When a man’s ways please the LORD,
he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him" (Proverbs 16:7).
"Getting Along"
Such is the conflitration over time on how to get along.
It’s an old melody with new words; an endless whistle or hum.
It’s a story, not so much about who we are, as how we become.
Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination…
Leaving us with joy of singing….our song.
The very essence of our disposition is established with each quote and phrase
Bringing an understanding to what was a confusing maze.
The right of the individual to fulfill his needs and grow..
The forthrightness and patience to avoid the "I told you so's"
Sharing in good and bad, not overzealous or stopping to brood.
Each one clinging to individualisms born of independence and solitude.
No tug-a-war over chores of unpleasantness
When we try to please each other out of love and gentle kindness.
A made up bed, a gentle word said, a clean dish towel.
Throwing away ragged clothes or just a greeting with a smile.
They all become trivial tasks we do to please
Not out of obligation, but with utter ease.
Each must feel needed but possess a certain degree
Of independence and responsibility;
As well as moments of privacy.
